Teeth Whitening

Teeth Whitening Treatment

Professional teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure designed to lighten the shade of the teeth and remove stains and discoloration. Unlike over-the-counter whitening products, professional whitening is performed by a professional and typically involves the use of stronger whitening agents and specialized equipment for better results.

Key Benefits of Professional Teeth Whitening:

Effective Whitening

Professional whitening treatments use high-concentration bleaching agents that can effectively remove deep-seated stains and discoloration from the teeth, resulting in a brighter and more radiant smile.

Customized Treatment

Professionals can tailor the whitening treatment to suit each patient's needs and preferences, ensuring optimal results while minimizing sensitivity and discomfort.

Fast Results

Professional whitening treatments often produce noticeable results after just one session, with teeth becoming several shades lighter. In-office treatments typically take about an hour, making them convenient for individuals with busy schedules.

Safe and Supervised

Professional teeth whitening is performed under the supervision of a qualified professional (with 10 years experience in the industry), ensuring that the treatment is safe and appropriate for the patient's oral health.

Long-lasting Results

While the duration of results can vary depending on factors such as diet and oral hygiene habits, professional whitening treatments generally provide longer-lasting results compared to over-the-counter products. With proper maintenance and occasional touch-up treatments, you can enjoy a brighter smile for an extended period.

Boost in Confidence

A whiter and brighter smile can enhance self-confidence and improve overall appearance, leading to greater social and professional success. Professional teeth whitening can help individuals feel more confident and comfortable with their smile.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long will my teeth stay white for?
This varies from individual to individual. It depends on how much staining foods you tend to ingest, or whether you smoke or drink red wine often. The effects of whitening can last 6 months or more.
Q: How long should I refrain from eating staining foods?
I advise at least 24 hours but for optimal results it is advised up to 72 hours.
Q: How often can I whiten my teeth?
Whitening your teeth every 2-3 months will help you maintain those pearly whites.
Q: How white will my teeth get?
Everyone's teeth will lighten but the degree of whiteness solely depends on your personal dental history. Those who have staining on their teeth produced by tetracycline or those who present with grey or purple teeth produced by trauma to the teeth may not have optimal whitening results. We will take a before and after photo to see how white we can get your teeth. Some individuals may see as much as 16 shades brighter!
Q: Can I whiten my teeth if I am pregnant?
Although the whitening gels are considered safe for most people to use, studies have not yet been done in pregnant women so it is advised that they do not use whitening products.
Q: What kind of gel do you use to whiten teeth?
All whitening products that we use come from a Canadian supplier, and all products meet Canadian regulatory criteria. The gel is a hybrid peroxide-generating compound proven to be effective, safe and gentle on your teeth.
Q: You have two types of gel, which one should I choose?
Both gels are designed to get you a brighter looking smile, if you have heavy staining or want to try to achieve the brightest outcome select our 24k gold whitening gel.
Q: Will my teeth be sensitive?
While some individuals may experience mild sensitivity, this is not typical with our gels since they are formulated specifically to reduce sensitivity.
Q: Can I still whiten my teeth if I have sensitive teeth?
Yes you can still whiten even if you are more prone to sensitive teeth. I have lots of treatment options for those who are concerned about sensitivity. We will work together to make a session that works best for you. Typically clients do not have sensitivity during their treatment even if they are prone to this. Our gels are formulated to reduce sensitivity.
Q: Who should not whiten their teeth?
Anyone that has active decay where the whitening gel is applied, or anyone who is pregnant should not whiten their teeth. Also those who have veneers, crowns or composite bonded teeth where the gel will be applied are not advised to whiten their teeth because the whitening gel is not effective and will not whiten these surfaces.
