What are Vascular Skin Lesions? FAQ

Home / Service
Originating from latin the term lesion came from the word laesio meaning injury. So a lesion is a cellular abnormality, resulting in the change of tissue due to trauma or disease. Vascular pertains to vessels, particularly vessels that contain blood. Since a lesion pertains to injury, a vascular skin lesion is the injury of blood vessels, most commonly seen in areas on the face, or around the nose, and legs. These abnormalities are very common, but can be crippling in terms of self confidence.
Please note that a consultation is required. Same day treatment is not available for Vascular Skin Lesion treatments. A $50.00 consult fee will apply if you decide not to proceed with treatment. The fee is waived if you book your treatment. Online virtual consultations are available.

What types of Vascular Lesions can you treat ?

Superficial, pigmented lesions are most suitable for this treatment. As an example, someone
suffering from small spider veins would be a good candidate, whereas varicose veins would be

Are there any risks or complications?
Erythema (redness), and edema (swelling) can occur, this is typical of the treatment and normal. Like every treatment, they are not without their risks, although rare, scarring can occur from the treatment. Darkening or lightening of the skin may occur.
Is there any downtime required after my treatment?
No downtime is required! You can go about your daily routines.
What machine do you use?
I use a Sharplight laser machine with integrated IPL (Intense light therapy) and DPC (Dynamic Pulse Control ), this dual therapy allows for a more selective and effective treatment. The handpiece itself cools down to -8 ensuring a comfortable experience, and preventing damage to surrounding tissue.
